Parent/Child Interaction Classes:
Play and Learn: Parent/child interaction classes with structure like Kindergarten. Children learn routine and transitioning skills. Class time includes music, circle time, story time and art. Visit our calendar for full schedule.
I'm Ready for Kindergarten - Follows school-year calendar. Children, ages 3-5, learn Kindergarten readiness skills (self-regulation, social-emotional skills, and fundamental early learning skills). Parents learn how to best support their child's early learning. Offered in English and Spanish. Please make 2021-2022 school inquires via email.
Live Music Monday- Parents, caregivers and children learn about instruments, and move together.
Art Studio Online- Classes for collaborative art projects for children and their caregivers.
Parent/Caregiver Consultations, Workshops and Seminars:
Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors- the nation's first evidence-based parent leadership training program for Latino parents with children ages 0-5. It gives families information on a variety of traditional parenting topics, like discipline and communication, along with things like nutrition, cultural values, getting involved in your child's education, and parent advocacy.
SEEDS of Early Literacy (Sensitive, Encourage, Educate, Develop through Doing, and Self-Image)- It's a program that teaches parents how to expand a child's vocabulary and build a lifetime love of reading. 5 Sessions.
Triple P- Positive Parenting Program: backed by over 30 years of clinically proven, world wide research, gives parents critical information on helping their children build resiliency and confidence. Three sessions. Please see www.triplep.net for more information.
Parent Support Groups:
Mothers and Babies- For new and expecting mothers
Self-care and Resilience Group
Supportive Care- For parents and caregivers with children and teens with high needs.
Empowering Families- Leadership and advocacy group for parents and caregivers
Community Worker Services: Families receive direct support from Community Workers who can consult with them about their child's development using ASQ screening tool and Triple P level 3 consultation. They will also provide resources and referrals as needed.
Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)- Developmental screening that help parents learn what to expect in different stages of their child's development. Measures Fine/Gross Motor, Communication, Problem Solving, and Social-Emotional capacities.
Service Referrals- We refer families and community members to our partners when they need services such as legal advice, food need, housing, etc.
Medi-Cal Application Assistance- We assist people who need to apply, for subscriptions that have lapsed, or those who simply have questions. Service is available in English, Spanish and Mandarin.
Sensitivity Screening- If your child seems unusually sensitive to the environment (noise, smells, movement, smells, etc), we can offer a screening to help you understand these sensitive and give you some tools and resources to help your child more comfortable.
